Production begins on 44 Transition Pieces for Vattenfall’s Nordlicht 2

We’re proud to announce that production of Nordlicht 2 officially started at our Aalborg facility on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, marked by the rolling of the first skirt cans - ahead of schedule.

This milestone reflects the strong collaboration and close partnership between CS WIND Offshore and Vattenfall.

Building on the successful execution of Nordlicht 1, the Nordlicht 2 production setup follows a similar basis while incorporating several operational and process optimizations aimed at improving efficiency, quality, consistency, and production flow.

Through the strong support and cooperation from Vattenfall during Nordlicht 1, we implemented APQP4Wind principles into our production processes. These structured quality and project management methodologies have strengthened cross-functional alignment, risk mitigation, process standardization, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing phase.

For Nordlicht 2, these APQP4Wind practices will be utilized to an even greater extent, enabling a more mature and integrated production approach focused on predictable execution, high quality standards, and operational excellence from the early production stages onward.
