The event welcomed Lasse Frimand Jensen, Mayor of Aalborg Kommune, and Jan Nymark Rose Thaysen, City and Country Councillor (Rådmand for By og Land), Aalborg Municipality, as part of the lead-up to Denmark’s municipal elections on November 18. Kristian Thulesen Dahl, CEO of Port of Aalborg, contributed perspectives from both the port and the surrounding business community, emphasizing the importance of the mayoral election for the local wind industry.

Discussion topics included issues such as local infrastructure, while also leveraging our position within the global energy sector to highlight the intersection between local priorities and the international energy agenda.

The conversation addressed key themes, such as carbon capture and storage, European energy independence, and security, underscoring the influence of both local and international developments on our operations.

We value the panelists’ openness and their thorough understanding of the needs of businesses like ours in terms of collaboration. A central theme was how to enhance dialogue and foster effective partnerships among municipalities, businesses, and educational institutions, particularly concerning education, apprenticeships, and training programs - crucial elements for economic growth and addressing workforce challenges.

As one of the largest private employers in North Jutland, we remain committed to strengthening our engagement with local policymakers to promote meaningful dialogue and deepen cooperation across Aalborg Municipality.
