Dansk Metal and Mayor of Aalborg visit our TP production for industry insights

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Claus Jensen, Union President of Dansk Metal, Jan O. Gregersen, Department Chairman, Dansk Metal Aalborg and Lasse Frimand Jensen, Mayor of Aalborg Municipality, to our production facility in Aalborg.

Their visit included a guided tour of the production halls, where they observed ongoing welding work, as well as stops at the TP upending site and the OSS site. We also took the opportunity to present some of our recent production optimizations.

Beyond showcasing our products and operations, the visit sparked important discussions about the current challenges facing the European offshore wind industry. Project cancellations and postponements are contributing to lower demand, and foundations produced outside the EU are entering Europe, becoming part of the European energy infrastructure.

Claus Jensen remarked on the significance of these challenges:
- The industry stands at a critical juncture, requiring decisive political action to safeguard valuable jobs and prevent production from moving out of Denmark. Another major concern is the potential loss of expertise and skills if manufacturing is relocated outside Europe, he said.

This shift would not only impact our company but also many local businesses in the wind sector throughout Denmark.

As one of the largest privately owned employers in Aalborg Municipality, we deeply appreciate the time and interest shown by the Mayor and the representatives of Dansk Metal.

Their engagement underscores the importance of cooperation to ensure that companies like ours can continue to thrive, supporting the livelihoods of countless local workers and their families.
