Yesterday, our colleague Hans Ole Sannes, Apprentice Responsible together with Apprentice Maslah visited Hammer Bakker Prison in Northern Jutland, Denmark, where 40 companies met up to discuss how to contribute to a more meaningful future for inmates.

We participated alongside Siemens Gamesa to provide insight into our collaboration with High:five, who helps young people at risk of unemployment due to previous crime getting jobs in the ordinary labor market.

Currently, we have two welding apprentices who have found their way to us through High:five - and we have a total of 30 apprentices. One of them is Maslah, who has been employed at CSWO since October 2021, first as a laborer, and shortly after as a welder apprentice in January 2022 ✨

“Hans Ole and Maslah did incredibly well, THANK YOU for being a part of it. Hans Ole & Co – CS WIND Offshore. You make a huge difference, and you do it not because you have to, but because you want to, and engage with the people you hire. I am very proud to work with you at CS WIND Offshore. So thank you for being you!”

Trine Skibelund Jespersgaard, Senior Consultant at High:Five

The evening was organized by High:five in collaboration with the Danish Prison and Probation Service and Business Network 9220 and featured two presentations from Siemens Gamesa and CS WIND Offshore, where Daniel and Maslah (both employed via High:five) also participated.

In addition, those in attendance were given a tour of the prison and a presentation by the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Job & Welfare in Aalborg Municipality, Nuuradiin S. Hussein.

There was networking and an exchange of experiences across all attendees.

By sharing this story we hope that this type of event can help break down prejudices and create new opportunities.
