Thomas Olsen

30+ years in the same company. That's something! Therefore, here is a little insight into the Measurement profession, which Thomas Olsen has mastered at our site in Aalborg, Denmark since 2002

Thomas took his 800-something trip atop a transition piece in April 2025. In the beautiful, calm weather - though it is far from always like this at Port of Aalborg 🌊

“I enjoy coming up here, it's quiet and peaceful - peace and tranquility. It's a routine task for me. Just enjoy the peace for a moment. I've probably been up here 800 times - it's not exaggerated. We measure flatness and how much it tilts. It's not random how these lines should be - it has to fit into 48 points. This is meticulous work - not rush work. We measure in hundredths.”

The measurement in the beautiful sunshine goes by the book. It is within the accepted range. Everything has to go into the computer afterwards - so Thomas works at his PC when he comes down from the platform. It's a workday with variation.

Thanks for the insight into your work at height, Thomas 👋

“I am passionate about what I do - and happy with my workplace. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been here for this many years.”
